The Fair
Solar Argentina, the event on photovoltaic, thermal and CSP energy and Eolica Argentina, the fair dedicated to the wind energy industry, will take place from Wednesday 10 to Friday 12 July at the La Rural fair centre of Buenos Aires. The 2012 edition was highly successful: the quality of the 3,200 visitors, from 15 countries of different continents, fulfilled the expectations of the more than 60 exhibitors.
Among these, diverse Argentinean companies, which had the opportunity to come into contact with numerous potential clients.
"It is very important that the government also foresees incentives for the sector," adds Fernando Salgado di Solartec. "This first edition of the fair has been really positive, with specialized visitors and interesting contacts."
Other than Argentinean companies, the event also saw the participation of exhibitors from different countries. "We are an American multinational company with 1,800 employees all over the world. We are present, in fact, in Germany, Canada and China," explains Jorge Luque of Schletter. "We have been working in the solar energy sector for 20 years and we decided to come to Argentina to verify the potential of this market."
"We must understand how renewable energies are developed outside of Europe, and Argentina has enormous possibilities not only for wind and solar energy, but also for biomass, says Italian Corrado Prosperi, from the Studio d’Ingegneria. "The fair was very well organized and provided us with a broader vision of this market. I was very pleased to be able to meet numerous young Argentinean engineers, who are working on the development of these technologies. The fair has been a positive experience for me and I am seriously thinking of coming back again next year."
